Spring cleaning and a sandbox!

On Saturday we brought Peter over to Brad & Amy's for the day so we could be at home -- un-interrupted -- and do some MAJOR Spring cleaning. I got rid of a ton of clothes, organized the office, threw out stuff, threw out stuff, threw out stuff....Ben worked in the yard, the garage, etc. It was a VERY PRODUCTIVE day! My mental health wasn't doing very good, knowing all the stuff we had to do and now I am in a much happier place having had such a great day of organizing. It finally feels like Spring to us and the yard and house are starting to show it! It was truly a very long Winter season and it feels so wonderful to be recovering from it. Living up here kind of sounds like having a disease, huh? Just kidding.

Peter had a ton of fun with his cousins, Bella & Avery, on Saturday. They had lunch together and took a nap together. Amy said she put them to "bed" at 1pm and they didn't fall asleep until 3pm. Goofy kids! Amy is a saint for putting up with the silliness! When they got up from their naps she took them all to Target. I tell ya what -- she is a brave woman! The kids were great and when they got home she fed them supper. After supper they went outside to play and Peter fell in love with their sandbox. Ben and I went to pick up Peter at 7pm and they were just going outside to play. We stayed for an hour and let Peter enjoy the outdoors and of course -- the sandbox. When we had to leave at 8pm he sure put up a fight. Being that he loved it so much, we caved and bought him a sandbox yesterday. We have already purchased his birthday presents for next week so this gift to him is kind of a freebie. BUT -- he woke up DRY yesterday morning, after his nap yesterday afternoon AND this morning too! Since that is such a big feat, we feel the sandbox is kind of justified... And really, he should get a reward for enduring the long winter months. Daddy planted a garden yesterday so while he's maintaining that this summer, Peter will have something to do in the yard -- play in his sandbox!!

Here are the photos I took...(Peter was still in his jammies yesterday afternoon when he woke up from his nap -- he was so excited to see a sandbox waiting for him!)
