Hello Everyone!
This past weekend was very busy for us. On Friday night we attended a surprise birthday party for a friend of ours in downtown Minneapolis at Hard Rock Cafe. She also got engaged that day too as a surprise so it was fun to celebrate with them! After Hard Rock, about 10 of us went on to a dueling piano bar close by called The Shout House. It was GREAT! I would recommend it to people of all ages (21+ of course)! They play music via 2 grand pianos, and they add in a guitar and some drums once in awhile. They play music from the 50's all the way through today and they do it in a way that everyone is entertained! Our good friends Rick & Brittany were out of town this past weekend so we slept at their apartment in Burnsville. Peter spent Friday night at a coworker's house with her family. He did really well there. They entertained him and spoiled him, so how could anything go wrong? :) On Saturday night after Peter went to bed (and our sitter arrived), we went to a place called The What's Up Lounge and watched our good friend Jacob's band play. We have never heard them live before so it was awesome to finally be able to be there. It was a great night! The pictures of Ben & I are from Hard Rock Cafe, The Shout House & The What's Up. On Sunday morning we cleaned house a bit and we rearranged the furniture in our living/dining room. We really like the change. It's needed now that our lifestyle has changed with a 2 year old! Next time you come over, you'll get to see it! On Sunday afternoon, we took Peter to Sibley Park in downtown Mankato and we had a picnic. We also went to the zoo (not a real zoo...just a kiddie zoo at the park). The photo's are of Peter eating applesauce with Daddy, Peter chasing a Peacock, Peter not getting any attention from the ducks, and Ben attempting to feed the ducks with no luck...and finally the last picture is of Peter as he found the corn machine. He is always fascinated by machines and he is a very analytical little boy so as soon as he found that, the animals were of no interest to him. :) We also stopped at Sam's Club and Wal-Mart and we bought some flowers for our planters out front. My hope is that I can keep the flowers alive until the end of July as last year they were dead by June. :( Wish me luck!

Happy Easter! Before heading up to Grand Forks/East Grand Forks, we took Peter to see the Easter Bunny at the mall. As you can see from the picture, Peter wasn't very impressed. :) The professional shot we got had Peter on my lap and he was at least looking at the camera. My brother manages a bar and grill inside a hotel, so Peter went swimming for the first time over Easter weekend! We swam with Brad, Amy & Bella. Peter was scared and unsure at first, but after about 10 minutes he warmed up to it and he paddled his legs and arms and splashed, splashed, splashed! I look absolutely horrible as my make-up is running down my face, so please don't look too closely. We just wanted a picture of another "first" in Peter's life.On Easter Sunday after church, we took a family picture before Peter got to see what the Easter Bunny brought him. For some reason, Peter was naked...I don't remember why that occurred. :) The Easter Bunny brought him a lawn mower and gardening supplies for playing outside! Hopefully when the weather warms up, Peter can help me when I care for the flowers we'll buy for out front. Last year the flowers I planted died by the end of June, so this year I'm hoping to keep them alive until the end of July! Peter didn't particularly care for the grass in his Easter basket. You can see that from the picture. :) He did like the eggs filled with Jelly Beans and Fruit Loops. The Easter Bunny is sooo nice!On Sunday afternoon, we ate dinner at my grandparent's house where Peter and Bella got more baskets with toys and candy. Those two sure are spoiled rotten! I didn't know that the Easter Bunny comes to Grandma's and Great-Grandma's house too!! Before leaving after dinner, we took a 4 generation photo....Great-Grandpa Bob, Grandpa Punky, Momma Janelle and Peter. This may have been our last picture of it's kind as Great-Grandpa isn't in the best of health. He sure seemed to enjoy Peter's company...we're glad that they got to spend some more time together. Well, not much else is new. Ben is still student teaching, I'm still loving my job and soon it will be GRADUATION! Woo hoo for double income!! We hope you all had a wonderful Easter and the beginning of Spring is treating you well. Come back for more another time! Bye bye.
