Peter Update

As I have mentioned on here before, Peter has been receiving special ed services since he was 8 months old and PT, OT & Speech services from a place called Pediatric Therapy Services since he was 15 months old. (He is about 32 months now—3 yrs in May) Anyways, I (Janelle) met with his team of special ed teachers yesterday morning for a review and they DID diagnose him with having Autism, being “Autistic” or being placed on the Autism Spectrum, whichever way you would like to look at it. Basically his services will not change, the label is for the purpose of receiving the same amount of services, especially after we move up to East Grand Forks. He may not be labeled this for the rest of his life but for now he is. We are not shocked, almost relieved to know we are continuing down the right path of care for him and in his best interest. We are also waiting for a call from Mayo and he will be having a thorough medical assessment in March or April by the Mayo Dana Child Development & Learning Disorders Program. He has been on the waiting list for almost a year. This will help us to know if he is considered psychologically/neurologically “Autistic” as well as educationally.

That's all I have for now...

Keep in touch!

Christmas & New Year's

Here are some pictures from Christmas & New Year's...Enjoy!

Peter opening his BIG present from Santa (a few days early)

He got a kitchen set from Santa to go with all of his fake food

I think Santa got Peter's present on sale...so it was a BIG project for Daddy!

Peter loves it! It will go in the living room when we take the tree down.

Peter playing outside at my parents house in EGF.

Teaching Photos

On Wednesday night I drove to Comfrey (first time ever!) to attend Ben's work Christmas party. Before heading to the principal's house for that, I stopped and saw the school and Ben's classroom where he teaches. I attached a few photos. Merry Christmas!
