Another Potty Story

So last night when I got home after being gone for 12 hours, Peter was very excited to see me! I told him I had to go potty so he followed me into the bathroom. Of course, instead of letting his dancing mother go first (cause I REALLY had to go) -- he decided he had to go first. Ok, fine. So he goes potty. We did our usual thumbs up routine when he went...

So he is still hanging out in the bathroom when I go potty. When he "heard me" going potty, he stopped--looked at me--and said "Mommy, I so proud you!"

It's been a long time since I've had such encouragment for going pee.

Peter's Song

Last night at dinner, Peter started singing a song instead of doing the dinner prayer. So we had him do it again so I could record it. Turn your volume waaaaaaaaaaaaay up! It is so darn cute. (At least we think so) We have no idea what song it is...we assumed he learned it at daycare. :D We are so proud of him! This is his first song! (Please ignore the cluttered table!)

In every direction!

Man oh man are we busy! Since we've moved, each of us has taken on more and more responsibilities/extra-curricular activities...

Peter of course goes to school all day and has Occupational & Speech therapy there. He also has 2-3 hours of ABA therapy each day -- sometimes at school, sometimes at home in the evenings. He also has ABA on Saturdays....you probably know all of this from my past posting. We normally see him at bath & bedtime the most. We cherish that time of day with him...however, he is usually pretty worn out by then. :( But he enjoys therapy so much and is excited to see his "friends" daily. He doesn't really know they are therapists--we call them "friends".

Let's see, Sundays are particularly busy! Each Sunday of the month one of us either distributes Communion at mass, or I am singing in the Adult Choir. Sundays during the day I tend to work on as many freelance projects as I can. Sunday evenings Ben plays in a co-ed volleyball league with other men and women that he teaches with.

Wednesday evenings Ben and I both teach 9th grade religious education at Sacred Heart. That's from 6:30-7:30pm. From 7:30-8:30pm I have choir practice. From 8:30-9:30 Ben attends a men's group with other young husbands/dads in the parish. It is so rewarding for him.

And the newest addition to our list of things to do is coaching. I am coaching softball at Sacred Heart this year. I will be assisting with the Varsity team and coaching the Junior Varsity team. For the next 3 months I will be coming in to work earlier and leaving earlier (with no lunch) and then heading to practice. Of course, the games will begin in early April so that will change the schedule up a bit from week to week. It will be a crazy 3 months but I am very excited! It's so great to be able to share my passion for the game with the young ladies in our community. Ben is 100% committed with me and very supportive of this new journey in my life. He and Peter are along for the ride and I am so grateful for that. (I am hoping to get into shape this Spring too!...without breaking any parts of my body)

When the season comes to a close at the end of May, our roles will reverse a little bit. I will be taking care of Peter most of the time, as Ben will begin another summer working for Zavoral's. He'll be gone about 16 hours a day. Hopefully I will still be able to play on my Monday night women's slowpitch league...(if my parents are up for watching Peter those nights).

The month of March is already looking quite busy! This next weekend I will be in Fargo for the annual BBB Reunion (Beautiful Beauchamp Babes). That should be a fun time--and a tiring one! All's we do is eat, drink, shop and laugh. It is so therapeutic! The weekend after that, our friends, Ann & Chad Horrmann (from Mpls) will be in town! We have only seen them once since we moved last June. We have been trying to figure out a weekend to see each other for months and it is FINALLY working out! We are so excited to show them our new home. We miss them so much! The third weekend in March, Ben has that Friday off from school so he is going to take Peter down to visit his parents. I think the weekend after that Ben has to travel to Minot for another teacher's conference. This one will provide him with one college credit towards his Master's.

Ok, seriously--enough babbling. We just wanted to fill you all in on our happenings. We are busy as ever, but will always find time for our loved ones. So don't avoid us! :D

Take Care.
